Web Processor Expert Node Builder

Node Builder is a development tool that allows the user to setup a target CPU and create an application very easily and quickly from scratch without having knowledge how to do the low-level programming of the microcontroller chosen for the application.

The Node Builder is in fact a front-end interface to the famous Processor Expert tool. It uses components - for their similarity with Java Beans called Embedded Beans - as building blocks for the user applications. Embedded Beans are characterized by set of properties, methods, and events. They can be perceived as "black boxes" encapsulating the functionality of basic elements of embedded systems like CPU core, CPU on-chip peripherals, standalone peripherals, virtual devices and pure software algorithms.

The output of the Node Builder is a source code. The Node Builder generates optimized bean drivers for all on-chip peripherals, external devices and software beans. The interface for all the beans is well defined, so the generated code may be used the same way even for different microcontrollers.

The Node Builder was developed to introduce the power of a platform- independent, Web-based software tool into the arena of development tools for embedded systems. Node Builder can be run from any computer connected to the Internet that has an Internet browser with FLASH support. Note: The Node Builder is a successor of the Graphical IDE (GIDE). Thanks to the FLASH technology it is possible to install and run the application in the user Internet browser very quickly already when the Node Builder page is visited for the first time.
