Company UNIS was established in 1990 as a 100% Czech firm without any participation of foreign capital. The company currently employs nearly 250 employees with four affiliates covering both the Czech and Slovak Republic (SME). In 1998 UNIS was included in 100 Czech Top Admired Companies. The quality management has won the company many prestigious awards (1995 - Lloyd`s Register Quality Assurance (re-certified 1998), 1996 - Czech Republic Quality Award).

UNIS became a recognised company with unique resources, verified over time in the fields of instrumentation and control and electrical power distribution. The company's success derives from a consistent focus on quality management and development support in fields associated with the management of production processes, such as software and hardware for control systems and microprocessor applications. The Processor Expert and related products are developed and maintained by the Development Tools for Embedded Systems department.
The department Development Tools for Embedded Systems was established in 1997, and its mission is to provide the innovative technologies for application of microprocessors for industry, avionics, telecommunications, pervasive or home computing, medical instrumentation and others. All the technologies and products for the Hardware/Software design of embedded systems are a result of a longtime R&D and customers support. The unique know-how from the range of support of different microprocessor architecture and component based programming is the most requested contribution for the top European R&D projects for standardization 1999 - EUREKA (ITEA/DESS), FP5/IST (MOBIVAS). There is a permanent cooperation with the most important universities of Czech Republic, and there are significant specialists in the team. Since January 1999 this department has designed a development Hardware board kits with Processor Expert Software support for the latest microprocessors from FUJITSU. We also develop tools for the Freescale and National Semiconductor microcontrollers.
